Norman Galenski Obituary

GALENSKI, Norman, 79, of West Warwick passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at Brookdale Centre of New England, Coventry. 

He was the beloved husband of the late Roseann (Palermo) Galenski.  Born in Providence, a son of the late Boleslaw and Ella (Jacques) Galenski. He was a resident of West Warwick for most of his life.

Norman was a correctional officer with the RI Department of Corrections for twenty-eight years before retiring in 1993.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, a life member of the Highland Rod & Gun Club in Foster and loved country music and western movies.

He is survived by two stepchildren, Sheri Maini of Coral Springs, FL and Mark C. D’Andrea, WWFD and his wife Shelley of North Kingstown; a sister, Nancy A. Martone and her husband Jack of West Warwick; two grandchildren, Christopher Maini and Mia D’Andrea and several nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late William Galenski.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 9:30-10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am (all State Covid-19 guidelines will be observed).
