Grace Edith Vallante Obituary
Grace (Wood) Vallante, 94, a longtime resident of Tyngsboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Northwood Rehabilitation Center in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late Charles Vallante.
She was born in Ipswich on July 26, 1926, a daughter of the late Raymond Wood and Hazel (Whittier) Gregorio.
Grace received her nursing degree from Northern Essex Community College.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church and was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the nursery at Lowell General Hospital. She took great pride in her work and was blessed to have a job that she loved.
Grace was fondly known as “Gram” and her greatest joy in life came from caring and spending time with her loving family and close friends. She enjoyed walks around the mall, shopping and watching her favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives.
Grace is survived by her two daughters; Lynne Vallante and her husband Chris Katsikas of Nashua, Deborah Carrera and her husband Carlos of AZ, and her son Cliff Noyes and his wife Sandra of NH, several grandchildren including Kristi Tumpney and her husband Shane of Tyngsboro; several great grandchildren including Ty and Jenna Tumpney of Tyngsboro, as well as her loving half sisters and half brothers. She will be deeply missed by her dear friends Donna, Rhiannon and Connie; and several nieces and nephews.
Grace’s family would like to thank the staff at Northwood Rehab who personally cared for her and affectionately referred to her as “Amazing Grace”. A special thank you to her favorite nurse Julius for all the love you have shown her throughout the years.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, January 26th from 9-10 AM at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue in Dracut. To ensure the safety of all, social distancing measures will be in place and face coverings kindly required. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 26th at 11 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 95 Lakeview Avenue, Tyngsboro. Burial to follow in Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery.
