William E. Mikalonis

William E. Mikalonis, 78, beloved husband of Rosalie (Cabral) Mikalonis, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2021 in the comfort of his home. Born in Hartford, CT on June 23, 1942, he was the son of the late William J. Mikalonis and grew up in Windsor Locks before moving to Enfield in 1973. William served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968. He had a 38-year career as a Clerk for the US Postal Service in Windsor before retiring. William loved to watch NASCAR, had an extensive country music collection including hundreds of CD’s and thousands of vinyl records. He cherished his time on Friday mornings having breakfast with “the guys”. A proud veteran, loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, he will be missed by his family and friends. Besides his wife of 57 years, Rosalie, he leaves his daughter, Kerri Stone and her husband Gary of Enfield; 3 grandchildren, Robert, Kylee, and Ashlyn Stone; and his sister Joan Layne of Enfield. He was predeceased by his infant brother, David Mikalonis; and his brother-in-law Glenn Layne. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 26, from 9:30-11:00 am at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield with a Service at 11:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield.
