Jose Eliseo "Joe" Cordova Obituary

Jose Eliseo Cordova Jr., aka “Cheo” aka “Joe”,  beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Friend, and Vietnam Veteran, was called home by his Maker on the morning of January 18, 2021.

Jose had a very generous spirit, an infectious smile and eyes that expressed his sweet, loving, playful, sometimes devilish soul.  He enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved horses and horseback riding, camping, fishing, playing poker, watching Westerns, playing dominos, listening to music, working on cars and projects in the yard, garden and house. His Siberian Husky, Ginger, was his little sweetheart and it was always funny to watch her dig up a hole he had just filled or hide his tools as he did yard work.  Being a grandfather filled him with pride and lit up his life. He loved nothing more than visiting with family and friends and you could always count on his call on Sunday morning.

Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife Felicia, sharing things like shopping and cooking meals together, as well as the occasional trip to play bingo.   Right now, Jose is probably catching up with loved ones who passed before, playing a round of dominos with his uncle Truman and spending time with his father and son.

Jose is survived by his wife, Felicia; children, Marcus (Kathy), Anastasia, (Brian), Monique (Marc), Ashley (JJ), Michaela M, Anastasia M (Josh) and John (Angie); grandchildren, Jocelyn, Maddie, Noah, Wyatt, Charlotte V, Ryker, Harper, Camryn, Alyssa, Jaylynn, Jesslyn, Erica, Alyanah, Hoshea, Charlett and Mykah; mother, Clara; siblings, Lawrence (Debbie), Frank (Cynthia), James, Carol (Melvin), Yolanda (Dan), Karen (Ken), Johnny, Patricia, Mike (Maria) and Cindy (Larry), as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and dogs, Ginger and Simba.

Jose’s son Rodrick, father, Jose Sr. and uncle, Truman Jones preceded him in death.

We will honor Jose on January 29, 2021 at 11:30 am with a funeral service at Wilson Funeral Home in Canon City.  The service will be live-streamed on YouTube at that time, please search under “Holt Family Funeral Live Stream”.
