Doris Williams Brendle

Doris Williams Brendle, 85 of Pfafftown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Surry County on July 15, 1935 to the late Jessie Leonard Williams and Tishie Nichols Williams. She was a member of Mizpah Moravian Church. Doris was preceded in death by two brothers Alfred Williams and Jessie Williams, Jr. Doris married Wesley Brendle on April 11,1952 and they have three daughters Bethany Yates (Alan), Angie Overby (John) and April Strickland (Jake). Spending time with her grandchildren brought her great joy - Kimberly Robitaille (Tim), Wesley Yates, Jessie Overby, Daniel Yates, Addie Overby and Alana Yates; great grandchildren Brandon, Kaleigh, Emma Mae and Bentley Robitaille. She is survived by six siblings Ralph Williams (Jerri), David Williams (Peggy), Emily Mabe, Ruth Williams, Banner Williams and Nathan Williams (Sherry), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Doris began her career as a secretary and retired from Electronic Distributing. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and others especially during the holidays. She had a love for the outdoors. Some of the things she loved were flower gardening, growing tomatoes and yard work. There will be a walk-through visitation on Saturday, January 23 from 4pm - 8pm at Salem Funeral Home, Reynolda Road. A graveside service will be on Sunday, January 24 at 2pm at Mizpah Moravian Church, Rural Hall, NC. The service will be officiated by Reverend Donald Griffin and Pastor Fran Saylor.
