Jean M. Mueller Obituary

Jean Marie Mueller

Little Chute – Jean M. Mueller, age 63, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on January 21, 2021, after a 4 year battle against ALS. She was born on August 24, 1957, daughter of the late David and Jane (McDaniel) George. She married Paul Mueller on December 11, 1976, and together recently celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Jean received her master’s degree and was an educator for her entire career. She started at St. John Catholic School in Little Chute for 11 years, and ended her career with the Freedom Area School District, eventually as the Director of Special Education. She was an advocate for all children and volunteered many hours helping them in all aspects: education, religion and sports.

Jean loved to travel, she would usually try to get a piece of jewelry from every place she visited. She was a true people person, she knew someone wherever she went. If she didn’t, she certainly knew them by the time she left! Jean loved to walk and bike, and was very proud of her achievement last summer of biking over 200 miles, even with her ALS. She had a servant’s heart and a generous soul. Jean would donate to local pantries and found great joy in sponsoring families at Christmas time. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and time spent with her family was the most important to her.

Jean is survived by her husband, Paul Mueller; her daughters and grandchildren: Rebekah (Mike) Rockteschel and their children, Chloe and Payton; Emily (Donny Dix) Mueller; Kelsey (Dylan) Gehrtz and their daughter, Harper; her siblings: Patricia (Tim) Alger, Mary (Bruce) Mueller, Shari (Rick Whitehead) George and Julia (Joe) Martell; in-laws: Sue Jansen, Kristine (Richard) Hennes, Diane (Rene Jr.) Naranjo, Jill Buss, Karl (Patti), Joel (Gracie), Bill (Karen) and Tim (Carla) Mueller; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, David and Jane George; father and mother-in-law, Frederick and Beatrice Mueller; a nephew, Philip Fassbender and a brother-in-law, Jerry Jansen.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, private family services will be held at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute. Those wishing to view the livestream can watch it on St. John’s website: www.stjn.org on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staffs of St. Elizabeth Hospital and to the Infusion Center for all of their wonderful care given to Jean over the past few years.
