RAY WEGMAN, Raymond William Wegman, beloved husband of the late Ruth Helen Kinnimeyer Wegman for 63 years before her death, loving father of Beverly Wegman, Connie (Jack) Rosenberger, Doug Wegman and Mark (Annie Rebold) Wegman, devoted grandfather of Katie (Rosie) and Thomas Wegman, son of the late Clement and late Marie Wegman, brother of Clem (Irene) Wegman, William (Carol) Wegman, the late George (late Barb) Wegman, the late Albert (late Jean) Wegman, the late Clara (late Jack) Combess and the late Marie Wegman, brother-in-law of Lynda Witsken, very special friend of Jane Suddendorf and Beth Morrow. Ray is the uncle of many nieces and nephews and has many other special friends, all who held a special place in his heart. Ray proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Ray, became a leader in the Draft Horse Industry, and now has many friends across the county, as well as many animals he stewarded on his Green Township farm. Ray’s six-horse Belgian Draft Horse Hitch was a staple at many area parades and celebrations including the Red’s Opening Day Parades and the Harvest Home Parades. Ray, like his draft horses, was a gentle giant who was loved and respected by many. Ray adopted many friends as family and had become known as “the Corn Man” as it was his pleasure to share his crops. Ray died, January 21, 2021 after a brief illness. He was 88. Visitation will be held, next Sunday, January 31, 2021, 2 PM to 6 PM in The Woodlands, 9690 Cilley Road, Cleves. Masks must be worn. Social Distancing is expected. Private funeral services will be held for the family. A public graveside service, with Military Honors will be Monday, February 1, 2021, approximately 11:45 AM in Bridgetown Cemetery.
