Memorial Services for Marlin Larson will be private family services. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28 from 5:00 p.m. from 7:00 p.m. at Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck. Burial will be held at a later date.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings of up to 250 people. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming is available in most situations.

Marlin Justin Larson was born on April 7, 1948, to Urness, Sr. and Marion (Ronnei) Larson in Blue Mounds Township, Starbuck, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Marlin spent one year at School District #53 in Blue Mounds Township and then went to Starbuck Public School, graduating in 1966. He then attended two years at Alexandria Technical School while also working at Starbuck Oil. He worked for ten years at Remmele Engineering in the Twin Cities. In 1977 he started farming on the family farm. He was a true farmer at heart and enjoyed farming until he retired in 2010.

He served on the Township Board for 6 years and Immanuel Lutheran Church Council for 9 years. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Marlin also enjoyed being able to travel more during his retirement.

Marlin passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was 72 years old.

He is survived by his brother, Larry Larson of Starbuck; his sister, Mary Kvitek of Alexandria; sister-in-law, Connie Larson of Dearborn Heights, MI; a niece and two nephews; his significant other, June Harris, and her son Greg (Lisa) Harris; June’s grandchildren: Bree (Joe) Sanden and Brady (Nicole) Harris, and June’s great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Urness Larson, Jr., and brother-in-law, Dan Kvitek.
