 Allen J. Harper, 79, of Shelby, passed Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Marias Medical Center.

  Allen was born September 23, 1941 in Three Rivers, MI to Paul and Velma (Allen) Harper.  Throughout his childhood, his family lived in Michigan, Indiana, and Montana. Allen married Rose Mary Frye in 1960. They had four children, Scott, Jeff, Krystal, and Beth Ann. They later divorced in 1972. 

  Allen was Director of Engineering at Syndicate Glass in Middlebury, IN. He retired in 1998 and moved back to Montana. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and Masons Lodge.

  Survivors include his partner of 20 years, Valerie Moench of Shelby; his children, Scott Harper of Howe, IN, Jeff Harper of Sedley, VA, Krystal Swortwood of Solana Beach, CA, and Beth Ann Brady of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, Kaylan Harper of Charlotte, NC, Lucas and Chase Swortwood both of San Diego, CA, and Hailey Folk of California; great grandson, Jacob Harper of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Sharon Harper of Helena and Jenni (Art) England; half-brother, Patrick Lowe of Havre; numerous nieces and nephews.

  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose Mary; and grandson, Riley Folk.

 Due to COVID services will be held in summer.
