Robert Finch, 87, a long time Lowell resident, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2021 at his recent home in Hudson, NH, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen Finch with whom he had shared 62 years of marriage. The son of the late Rayal and Caroline (Pauly) Finch, he was born on August 5, 1933 in Lowell, where he was raised, educated and then raised his own family. After graduating from Lowell High School, Robert enlisted in the Marines and served as a sergeant during the Korean War and moved to California once his service ended. He soon returned to his roots in Lowell, MA with his future wife. Robert and Eileen met on a blind date, went bowling and fell in love. Soon after marrying Eileen, and the children started arriving, Robert took a job as a meat cutter at DeMoulas Super Market, where he would work for over 40 years as a meat dept. manager. In retirement, Robert and Eileen bowled for many years with the Dracut Seniors, travelled to Alaska, Ireland and throughout the United States and watched their family grow. Robert is survived by his five children and their spouses; Robert Finch and his wife Gwendolyn of Las Vegas, NV; Mark Finch and his wife Karen of Lowell, MA; Keith Finch and his wife Tammy of Pelham, NH; Tracy Frechette and her husband John of Hudson, NH; and Jason Finch and his wife Brenda of Dracut, MA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Robert was also the brother of the late Rose Stacey, Frederick Finch, Louis Finch, William Finch and Sophie Andrews. Due to gathering restrictions, his funeral service and interment will be held privately.
