Obituary

On January 21, 2021, Dorothy left us to join Oliver, her loving life partner and husband. We were fortunate to have her with us until she passed at the age of 92 years and seemed to be going strong enough to make it to 100.

Dorothy was born October 13, 1928, in Sharon Springs, Kansas, the 11th child of Eugene Marshall and Martha Jane Forshey, all who have preceded her in death. She was raised in Weskan, Kansas, moving to Idaho in 1947, where she met and married Oliver Adams, who loved and pampered her for 67 years. They were exceptional parents to two children, Shirley Kay and Harmon Eugene. They lived in Jerome, Idaho, then moved to Hailey, where they spent most of their family life. After Oliver's retirement, they moved to their final home in Meridian to be closer to family.

Dorothy was a wonderful seamstress, sewing most of her own and daughter's clothes. She also knitted and crocheted numerous sweaters, afghans, hats and scarves. She also enjoyed many other crafts over the years. She participated and assisted in all of the activities of both of her children, often being volunteered for a huge variety of jobs. As a family, they fished, camped, bowled, played cards and games frequently and laughed a lot.

Over the years, their family grew, and they welcomed unconditionally son and daughter-in-laws and four grandchildren, Natalie, Greg, Harmony and Shane, and later Natalie's three children, Kayli, Drew and Kelsey. They continued to attend as many of the kids’ activities as they could, and the camping and card games grew in size.

Dorothy also enjoyed many friends, bowling leagues, pinochle and bridge parties, skiing and was usually game for just about anything.

As long as Dorothy's parents were living, the family took annual trips to Kansas to visit them, and she always enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her siblings and their families as well as Oliver's siblings and families.

Dorothy's ashes will be placed with Oliver's at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Shirley Robertson and Harmon Adams; grandchildren, Natalie (Ron) Baldner, Harmony Adams and Shane Adams; and great-grandchildren, Kayli Countryman, Drew Lysne and Kelsey Baldner.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Adams, and grandson Greg Telford; parents, Eugene and Martha Forshey; five sisters, Ella Haines, Vada Robinson, Sylvia Philips, Goldie Burk and Mary Swartz; five brothers, Gail, Dwight, Marshall, Dick and Delbert Forshey; and several nieces and nephews.
