<p>Mrs. Dorothy &ldquo;Dot&rdquo; Lee Ring Yates, 80, of Pfafftown, passed away January 21, 2021 at her residence.&nbsp; She was born June 24, 1940 to Claude Vernon and Myrtle Long Ring.&nbsp; Mrs. Yates graduated from Northwest High School.&nbsp; She was a devoted wife and homemaker in the Dozier community, and enjoyed cooking, gardening and entertaining. Mrs. Yates was a talented artist and excelled at drawing and painting.&nbsp; She helped raise many nieces and nephews as well as chickens, guineas, ducks, fish, dogs and cats.&nbsp; She also enjoyed visiting yard sales and flea markets and spending time in the mountains with her husband.&nbsp; Though she suffered from dementia for many years, her family will always remember her fun-loving spirit, gift of hospitality, and generosity to family and neighbors.&nbsp; Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her parents.&nbsp; Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Gordon Charlie Yates; three sisters, Hilda Scott, Jane Eudy and Sylvia Patterson; one brother, Lonnie (Shirley) Ring; and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp; A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bob Richardson officiating.&nbsp; The family will receive friends following the service.&nbsp; Memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or a charity of choice.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
