John Edward Moore was born August 8, 1935 and entered eternal life on January 21, 2021. He was 85 years old. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Resthaven Cemetery in Jacksonville. Doug Wintermute will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. John grew up in Laneville. He worked in the Houston area and was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a signalman with the railroad before retiring. He moved to Jacksonville and he became a member of First United Methodist Church and Jacksonville Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Eula (Grammer) Moore; and brothers, Michael and Jerry Moore. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joann Gray-Moore of Jacksonville; sons, Joel Moore and wife Becky of Mineola, John Allen Moore of Pollok; daughter, Jimmie Aleen Beavers and husband Johnny of Crockett; and stepdaughter, Elaine Skates of Jacksonville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
