HELEN A. FREEMAN

<p>Helen A. Freeman (nee. Dennis), age 106, passed away January 19, 2021.&nbsp; Born October 11, 1914 in Sumter, South Carolina, to the late Ella (nee.) Cohen and Abraham Dennis.&nbsp;&nbsp; She was the youngest of seven children.</p> <p>After the death of her parents, she moved to New Castle, Pennsylvania and was raised by her late sister, Annie Williams.</p> <p>Helen married Norman T. Miller, and from that union five children were born.&nbsp; She later&nbsp; relocated to Canton, Ohio and married John Curry, with whom she bore six children.&nbsp; She also raised two of his children as if they were her own.&nbsp;</p> <p>Helen was a faithful member of&nbsp; the Peoples Baptist Church, where she served as an usher, choir member, and in many other capacities, including the Women&rsquo;s Ministry, until her health began to decline.&nbsp; She was also on the Mother&rsquo;s Board, which consisted of members age 80 and older.&nbsp;</p> <p>During her life, Helen worked as a housekeeper, office custodian, hair dresser, and cab driver.&nbsp; She retired on disability from Diebold Co.&nbsp;</p> <p>In addition to her parents, and sister, Annie, Helen was preceded in death by her siblings,&nbsp; and nine children, including Norman Miller and Marlena (Curry) Gatewood.</p> <p>She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Dorothy Russelle, James (Helen) Curry and Leon (Faye) Curry of Canton, Ohio, and&nbsp;Darlene (Aaron) Curry Sims of Sandusky, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, as well as a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Obituary

Helen A. Freeman (nee. Dennis), age 106, passed away January 19, 2021.  Born October 11, 1914 in Sumter, South Carolina, to the late Ella (nee.) Cohen and Abraham Dennis.   She was the youngest of seven children.

After the death of her parents, she moved to New Castle, Pennsylvania and was raised by her late sister, Annie Williams.
