"A time to be born and a time to die..."
John Wayne Armstead Jr. entered into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 18, 2021, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, Virginia.  His life began on December 21, 1971, son of John Wayne Armstead Sr. and the late Daisy Audrey Hayes, of Williamsburg, Virginia.

"A time to plant..."
At an early age, he attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Poplar Lawn Baptist Church, and later Mount Nebo Baptist Church.

“A time to build up...”
He was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools.  He worked several places in the Williamsburg area in foodservice and lastly as a brick mason until his health began to fail.  He was known by the community as “Two up and two down” because that’s the way he greeted people.  He loved music, dancing and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  To know him was to love him.

He leaves to cherish wonderful memories his daughter, Alexius Cypress “Daddy’s Girl” of Surry, Virginia; father, John Wayne Armstead Sr. of Williamsburg, Virginia; four sisters, Melissa King (Jerome) of Surry, Virginia, Jacqueline Thomas of Hampton, Virginia, Jennifer Hailey (Darrin) and Cynthia Williams, both of Williamsburg, Virginia; special friend, Maritta Bassett of Newport News, Virginia who stood by his side till the end; seven nephews, two nieces; and a host of cousins, other loving relatives, and many caring friends.
