Funeral services for Thomas Griffin 90, of Murchison have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday January 25, 2021 at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Red Hill Cemetery. He was born August 28, 1930 in Murchison, Texas to the late Thomas Gordon and Tinnie Mae Harralson Griffin. He was raised in Murchison in his early years and then moved to the Kilgore area as a young adult where he served with the Kilgore Volunteer Fire Department. He began a construction business and moved to Garland where he spent 35 years doing construction in the Dallas area. He then moved to Tyler where he continued his construction business and started raising cattle. Upon retirement he returned to his family home in Murchison where he continued raising cattle up until last year and just enjoying life. He loved watching Westerns on Tv and spent many hours doing so. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters; Becky Waldrop and Bessie Jo Griffin. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Novella Griffin of Murchison, sons; Tommy Lee Griffin and wife Katheryn of Seattle, Washington, David Michael Griffin and wife Patricia of Garland, daughter; Delores Cook and husband Rick of Raleigh, North Carolina, Beth Wyatt also of Raleigh, North Carolina, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews Pallbearers will be members of the family. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
