Karen Mariotti Houston, Texas Obituary

Karen Mariotti

Karen Mariotti of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2021 (12:40 pm).She is survived by her husband, Robert and son, Christopher. She is the seventh among nine surviving siblings: Alice, Louise, Frances, Carmen, Lawrence, Magdalene, Dominic, and Titania. She is also known as the “Texas” Auntie to several of her Nieces and Nephews. Among friends, coworkers and students, Karen is best known as the teacher at Christ the Redeemer (CTR) and later as a paraprofessional (teacher’s aide) with Cypress Ranch High School. Karen was also known as the soccer Mom of Christopher during his years with the team, “Phoenix”, a Cyfair recreational boys soccer league he participated for many years. She was also a soccer Mom when Christopher was a player for Cypress Ranch High School. Closer to home, Karen was among a group of friends who referred to themselves as the “Cypress Ladies”. A group she enjoyed conversing with through social media and lunch. At home, she was a good cook and skilled with creating Cantonese style dishes. If she was not eating at home, she enjoyed eating out and trying a wide variety of cuisines. To all, Karen was known for her strong personality. Often offering her opinion in a wide variety of topics. She was also known as a good talker, convincing with her verbal skills. On her gentle side, she was caring especially to the young and elderly. To quote one of her favorite Biblical versus, I will try to accommodate her final wishes like this second verse. Psalm 23 (1) The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. (2) He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. (3) He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

I found this 2001 recording of Karen's & Christopher's voice on an Audio Cassette tape. A few photos taken around this period has also been included to create this memory.
