Mrs. Solean Burrell Rush, the daughter of Clyde and Ruth Burrell, was born on January 27, 1946, in Florence County, South Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, January 21, 2021. Solean was educated in the public schools of Florence County. She held numerous employment positions throughout the years, but her most passionate was that of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the former Florence Convalescent Center on Clarke Rd in Florence, SC. Her love of people and the elderly was evident every day she went to work. She became friends with many of her patient’s family members and went out of her way to ensure that all their loved one’s needs were met. She was employed there until a wrist injury led to her retirement. Solean was a member of Deliverance Tabernacle Church, under Apostle Barbara Hamlin. Her love of God and her dedication to the church was evident in her willingness to serve on the Pastor’s Aide Committee and other capacities for many years. Her positive interactions within her family, her church family, and with strangers she encountered along the way were a daily testimony of her love for Christ and her fellow man. She was also a faithful member of United Order of Tents, Ruth E. Jordan Tent #219, Timmonsville, SC. Solean meet fell in love with and married Loman Rush Jr. on October 1, 1967. To their union, they added one son, Loman III, and two daughters, Karen and Tonya. Solean was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Ruth Burrell, brothers, Clyde Jr, Nathan, and Charles; sisters, Ruby, Dorothy, Rachel, Virginia, and Roberta. Solean is survived by her husband Loman Rush Jr, a son, Loman Rush III, daughters, Karen (Craven) Brown and Tonya Rush Dennis, and an honorary daughter, Pansy (Chris) Ezekiel; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Kelsey, Candace, Paiglyn, Dehra, Deven, and a grandson, Garrett Rush and a nephew, Ntshona Burrell whom she raised like her own, and four great-grands; a sister, Jessie (Joe) Clark, brothers-in-law, Rudolph (Mazie) Rush, and Albert Rush; sisters-in-law, Allean Kirven, Thelma Rush, Alice Rush, and Rosa (Wesley) Williams and Mary Alice Rush; godchildren, Carolyn (Craig)Gunther and Chris (Erica)Holloman and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
