William Earl Johnson Obituary

William Earl “Bill” Johnson, 68, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his home after a long illness. He was born on Sunday, July 20, 1952 in Madison Co., Kentucky, the son of the late Leo Earl and Katherine Kelly Johnson. He was a 1971 Graduate of Madison Central High School,served as a Sergeant with the Richmond City Police Dept. and retired as a truck driver with Sav-A-Lot Foods. Bill was an avid golfer and fisherman, a member of the Madison Country Club, and loved playing cards with his friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Bradley Johnson and his sister, Mable Ann Roberts. Survivors include his wife, Reyne Olds Johnson; one son, William Christopher Johnson, of Richmond; a grandson, Kade Bradley Johnson; brother-in-law, Stuart Olds (Pat); special family, Sherman & Hope Hurt and Addy Hurt; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Special thanks to Mike & Jane Sexton for the years of good memories. “A golden heart stopped beating, a precious soul at rest. God broke the hearts to prove to us – he only takes the best.” A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery.
