<p>Sharon Kay Dershem, a lifelong resident of St. Johns, died on January 20, 2021 after suffering a fall last week. She was 79 years old.<br /> <br /> Sharon was born in St. Johns, Michigan on May 11, 1941, one of eight children born to Paul and Alice (nee. Sheldon) Orweller. Sharon married Richard Dershem on November 23, 1968 in Ovid, Michigan and they made their home on the family farm in St. Johns where they raised their family and was a quintessential &ldquo;farmer&rsquo;s wife&rdquo;. &nbsp;She enjoyed working for over twenty three years at Hazel Findlay Country Manor. She had a generous heart, a giving nature and loved to care for, and make homemade meals, for family, friends, neighbors, pets, wildlife and all those she loved.<br /> <br /> She will be missed by many, especially her husband of fifty two years, Richard Dershem; her sons, Lynn (Christie) Dershem and Peter (Cindy) Dershem; her daughter, Kirstin (Steve) Dershem; grandchildren, Tyler (Cassondra) Kinsey, LeeAnn (RJ Brown) Kinsey, Miriah Dershem, Dakota Dershem; great-grandchildren, Tucker Kinsey, Brynn Kinsey and one on the way; sisters, Paula (Dan &ldquo;Cowboy&rdquo;) Roberts, Sandra (the late Mike) Wing and Joyce (the late Alvin) Woodhams; sister-in-law, Emily Orweller; brother-in-law, Roger Arntz as well as and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jan Arntz and brothers, Leon, Dean and Gary Orweller.<br /> <br /> A celebration will be held at Dick &amp; Sharon&rsquo;s home on Saturday, January 23rd , 2021 at 2 PM.<br /> <br /> Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Lowe United Methodist Church, 5485 W Lowe Rd, St Johns, MI 48879.</p> <p>For further information, phone McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel at 989-224-4422.</p>

Sharon Kay Dershem, a lifelong resident of St. Johns, died on January 20, 2021 after suffering a fall last week. She was 79 years old.

Sharon was born in St. Johns, Michigan on May 11, 1941, one of eight children born to Paul and Alice (nee. Sheldon) Orweller.
