Shirley Lynn Sharp Bowden

Shirley Lynn Sharp Bowden passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 21, 2021. She was born on June 21, 1939 to the late Ambrose and Freda (Weaver) Sharp. Shirley graduated from Farragut High School in 1957 and Knoxville Business College. Shirley married Manson B. (Bud) Bowden in 1960 and they were married for 56 years when Bud passed away in 2017. Shirley has been a member of First Baptist Concord for over 50 years. She loved singing in the choir and loved being a part of the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. Next to Shirley’s love for her Lord was her love for her family. She spent her life loving and caring for her family for which we are so thankful and blessed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Manson B. (Bud) Bowden, her sister Joyce Sharp McFalls and her brother J. Victor Sharp. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Brad Moore of Knoxville, son and daughter-in-law Mike and Jill Bowden of Lenoir City, grandchildren Rachel and Tyler Thompson, Tate Bowden, Rebecca Moore and Carter Bowden, great granddaughter Millie Ann Thompson, brother and sister-in-law Don and Dorothy Sharp, sister-in-law Jane Bowden and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather at Lenoir City Cemetery on Saturday, January 23 at 12 PM for a graveside service. Memorials can be made to the Handyman Ministry at First Baptist Concord or East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
