Gary L. Bartle, 67, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. Gary Lee Bartle was born in Washington, MO, January 28, 1953, to George and Dorothy Bartle (nee Biery). Gary Married Mary Joyce Hill February 23, 1974. He was employed by Ramsey Corporation as a machine operator for 30 years and at Welded Construction as an oiler for pipeline construction in norther Missouri. Gary retired in 2015. In his younger years, he loved to hunt, fish, drag race, ride motorcycles, play in softball leagues, coach his children in baseball and softball, float on the Meramec River and often went to the creek with his lifelong friend, Danny Parkins. Gary enjoyed watching his son, Tom, play in music in the band Riverside at many gigs, playing golf, watching sports and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was well known for his grilling expertise and cooking skills. The Bartle home, where he resided from 1978 – 2008 on Louisiana Street in Sullivan, Missouri, was home to many neighborhood children and friends of the family. Gary was often called “Dad” by many of these children. There were many late-night volleyball games held at the Bartle home. Gary always made time to talk to everyone and loved walking at Wal-Mart, visiting with many friends. Gary is survived by his four children: Timothy Bartle and wife, Heather (nee Hormann), of Bourbon, MO, Cory Bartle and wife, Angie (nee Fore), of Sullivan, MO, Tom Bartle and wife, Tricia (nee Berkbigler), of Union, MO, and Brandi Byrd (nee Bartle) and husband, Justin, of Bourbon, MO; twelve grandchildren: Brittany Bartle, Cameron Bartle, Raylee Bartle, Hannah Cox, Rhett Cox, Austin Bartle, Logan Bartle, Gage Bartle, Kendall Krause, Drew Bartle, Jenna Bartle and Seth Byrd; three great-grandchildren: Bentley Eckenfels, Nolan Wilhelm and Maicie Bartle; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; two sisters, Wanda Roach and Kathy Bartle; one brother, Thomas Bartle; and granddaughter, Madison Bartle. Cremation arrangements have taken place. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Inurnment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery (St. Louis Rock Rd., Villa Ridge, MO 63089). Gathering to immediately follow at the Bartle home at 1082 Louisiana St., Sullivan, MO. Memorial contributions in Gary’s memory can be made to the Madison Bartle Scholarship Fund through First State Community Bank (3 E Springfield Rd., Sullivan, MO 63080). All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
