Claudette Jeane Feger Anchorage, Alaska Obituary

Claudette Jeane Feger

With great sadness the family of Claudette Jeane “CJ” Chaffin Feger announces her passing on January 18, 2021 at home in Anchorage, Alaska at the age of 81. Her daughter Staci and son-in-law Richard were by her side. Claudette moved to Anchorage in 2017 to live with Staci and Richard after being diagnosed with Lewy body disease. She faced the diagnosis with courage and humor and didn’t allow it to stop her from living life on her terms. She was born in a farmhouse in Montgomery County Kansas on April 17, 1939. She grew up in Independence, Kansas and graduated from Neodesha High School in 1957. In 1961 she met the love of her life, Joe Feger, in Wichita, Kansas. They were married three months later. Joe’s job took them to various corners of the country where CJ always found employment. In 1979, the two moved to New Hampshire where Claudette worked for Amherst Town Hall. In the 1990’s she started her own business, ‘C…Marketing Works’, a firm that helped young journalists find their first job in television news. Newly retired in 2000, Joe and Claudette moved back to Independence, Kansas to be close to family. After her husband died and the hospital in Independence closed, she relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma. For those who knew CJ she will be remembered by her strength, courage, beautiful smile, and her love of Bridge, traveling, and casinos. She is survived by her only child, daughter Staci Feger-Pellessier and son-in-law Richard Pellessier of Anchorage, niece Denise Coppage Smith of Augusta, Kansas, brother David Chaffin of Palm Springs, California, sister Eva Tucker of Humboldt, Kansas, her loving caregiver Katherine Gutierrez of Anchorage, and dear friends too numerous to mention. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Feger, her parents David Clifford Chaffin and Phyllis June Drinon, her aunt Erma Drake, and her sister Diane Drake McDonnell. Cremation has taken place. Her remains will be combined with her husband’s ashes and the two will be buried in Neodesha, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to be kind to all you encounter, live your life with compassion, and spread love as much as possible.
