Barbara Ickes Weaver
<p>Barbara Ickes Weaver, age 75, of Canton passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. She was born April 18, 1945 in Fresno, California to Howard and Katherine (Nichol) Ickes. Barbara spent her career in education teaching elementary school at the Canton City Schools for 25 years. She was passionate about traveling and embraced a life-long love of spending time with her family in Wilmington, NC on the beaches.</p> <p>Barbara enjoyed singing in the choir and playing the piano; she passed her appreciation of music to her children and grandchildren. She loved planting flowers, taking pictures and embracing the companionship of her dogs Molly, Abby and Riley throughout her life. Barbara always provided love and support for her family and could often be heard boasting about her three beloved grandchildren. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind a plethora of beautiful memories made with them. </p> <p>Barbara is survived by her children Jenny Jacob Kopp and Jonathan (Elizabeth) Jacob; grandchildren Jonas, Joshua, and Jessica; siblings Nancy Chiofolo and Robert (Karen) Ickes.</p> <p>Calling hours will be Sunday, January 24th from 1-3PM at the Arnold Funeral Home at 1517 Market Ave N. Funeral services will be Monday, January 25th at 11AM with Rev. David de Vries officiating. Final resting place is Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chancellor Choir at Christ Presbyterian Church.
