Joan Catherine Davis

<p>Joan (Jones) (Lewis) Davis passed away January 21, 2021, in her 80th year, at Shannex, Lily Court in Saint John.&nbsp; She was born in Shannon, New Brunswick on March 13, 1941 to May (Upshall) Jones and J. Wesley Jones.</p> <p>She is survived by her four sons; Peter (Tammy) of Rothesay, Michael (Michelle) of Calgary, Scott (Tammy) of Rothesay and Troy of Musquash.&nbsp; She was Nana to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.&nbsp; She is also survived by her four siblings; Dianne, Sandra, Heather and Trevor and several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>She was predeceased by her parents, her two daughters, Sondra and Kelly, her granddaughter Grace as well as her two former husbands, Jack Lewis and George (Sonny) Davis.</p> <p>Mom worked as an administrative assistant at White Trucks, Downey Ford, Centracare and the Saint John Regional Hospital all while raising 6 children.&nbsp; Later in life she worked at Colwells and Samuel &amp; Co.&nbsp; She loved the sport of curling her whole life and was fortunate to score an eight-ender with Jack and Glen &amp; Karen Gibbons during the City and District mixed-play in the mid 70&#39;s.&nbsp; A highlight for her was to skip her team to the NB Senior Ladies Championship.&nbsp; She loved to give back to Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club by introducing and teaching new players all about the game.</p> <p>In Mom&#39;s younger years, she loved to summer at the Cabins in the Pines on the Washadamoak Lake or over in PEI to visit her family in Charlottetown and Bunbury.&nbsp; Later in life she fulfilled two wishes when she travelled to Paris and Hawaii.</p> <p>The boys would like to thank the staff at Shannex Lily Court, Millidgeville, for all of your care and compassion shown to Mom and to us while she resided there.&nbsp; We could not be there to hold Mom&#39;s hand but would like to thank Julie and Alicia for holding her hand for us.&nbsp; You are very special people.</p> <p>Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). ***Due to public health&rsquo;s pandemic restrictions and to maintain everyone&rsquo;s safety: services will be held at a later date.*** Donations in memory of&nbsp; Joan may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the St. George Community Living Centre.</p>
