Thomas Leo Croninger Obituary

Thomas L. Croninger, 84, passed away Thursday morning at Hosparus Health Care Center in Louisville, KY. He was born to the late Benjamin and Ida Croninger in Harrison County on January 8, 1937. Thomas grew up in Elizabeth, Indiana before joining the Army and was stationed in Germany in the late 1950s, early 1960s. He was later employed as a security guard with Brown Forman. He loved to whittle canes, go for walks and greatly enjoyed his grandchildren. His family says that he was very friendly and never met a stranger! Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 57 years - Betty Croninger; daughters - Joyce Krajnak (Stephen) and Peggy Ortensie (Robert); brother - Maxie Croninger (Debbie); sisters - Hester Juliot and Mildred Barkemeyer; grandchildren - Ashley Haegele (Gregory), Westley Krajnak, Angelina and Christopher Ortensie, Samantha Burgess (Brett); great-grandchildren - Tony and Arya Burgess. In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his brothers - James, Harry, Walter and Andrew Croninger and his sister, Elizabeth Epperson. A memorial visitation will take place at the Market Street location of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes on Tuesday, January 26th, 9:30 am - 11:00 am with service following. He will be buried at Edwardsville Cemetery.
