Shirlee Meyers Obituary

Shirlee Joyce Floerchinger Meyers passed away peacefully from COVID in West Jordan, Utah surrounded by her family on January 19, 2021. Shirlee was born February 20, 1931 in Conrad, Montana to Leonard and Mabel (Watterud) Floerchinger. In 1947 she married Everett Meyers in Elko, Nevada and in 1953 moved with her family to Lynden, Washington. In 2008, she moved to West Jordan, Utah and lived with her grandson James until she passed away. Mom loved to read and learn new things. She worked at Parker’s Drug Store for many years. After raising her children, Shirlee returned to school and became a nurse working at the Lynden Christian Rest Home and as a Visiting Nurse. She volunteered at the Hope Office bringing dad long side at times (think shoes and butter). Her children, grandchildren, and those who call her Gramagreat will remember her as being a very special person. She was not afraid to try new things, had a great sense of adventure, and who loved her family unconditionally. She prayed for us constantly. Mom taught us that reading and continuing to learn were important and to be kind, loving, and excepting of others. She also thought eating a candy bar every day was not a bad thing. Shirlee is survived by her children MaryBeth (Gary) Moorlag, Dave (Victoria) Meyers, and Alan (Sheryl) Meyers; grandchildren and great grandchildren Kelly and Frank Lee (Jackson and Spencer), Chris Job, Jule and Emily Moorlag, Mitch and Karen Moorlag (Felicia, Cole Luke, and Trey), Bryan and Alexis Meyers (Ivy and Ruby), Josh Meyers, Dan and Sarah Meyers (Edith, Alice, and Molly), Curt and Orlene Meyers (Clark and Kent), James Meyers, Christy and Jose Chilado (Stephanie, Jason, Jacob, and Kyle), and Charlie Warner; siblings Glenn Floerchinger and Connie (Mickey) Butler; and many nieces and nephews. Shirlee was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Everett, their daughter Claudette Job, and her brothers Donnie, Bob, and Bud Floerchinger. A private family graveside service for will be held in Monumenta Cemetery on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 2 PM.
