Donald E. Chace, 85, of Loxahatchee, FL, formerly of Enfield, beloved husband of Sharon (Trommer) Chace, passed away at home on Monday, January 18, 2021. He was born in Providence, RI on April 20, 1935, son of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Waterman) Chace. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was employed as an Industrial Arts teacher for the town of Newington and later became the Guidance Director of Ellington High School. Donald cherished his time spent on the water sailing and boating, and also enjoyed gardening and soaking up the sun outdoors. He had a passion for seeking out his favorite classic car, a 1965 Barracuda.

In addition to his loving wife Sharon, Donald is survived by his children, Diane Chace of Newington and Old Saybrook, Valerie Cooper and her husband, Bruce of Blandford, MA, and Timothy Chace and his wife, Erica of Loxahatchee, FL; his grandchildren, Alexis Cooper, Jake Cooper, Zeb Chace, and Grayson Chace; his "favorite" brother-in-law, Jim Trommer of Newington, and his dear friend Buzz DeRusha of Longmeadow, MA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Michael Chace.

His family will receive relatives and friends from 4 - 6 pm on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service for Donald will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 11 am at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 20 North St., Enfield. Please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Hazardville Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required for all attendees.
