Betty Jo Langston was born on November 14, 1933, in Salina, Oklahoma, to Joe and Hazel (Brown) Scott. She departed this life on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at her home in Rose, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years, 2 months, and 6 days. Betty grew up in Salina, graduating Salina High School with the class of 1948. On November 18, 1951, in Arkansas, Manoah “Babe” Langston and Betty Jo Scott were united in marriage. To this union were born 4 children, Steve, Sheri, Rocky, and Jana. Babe preceded Betty in death on July 29, 2010. The couple had been married for over 58 years. Betty has made her home near Rose, Oklahoma for over 63 years. Over the years, Betty and Babe owned and operated the Woodland Junction Store, Langston’s Grocery, and Langston’s Lumber Yard. As well, they owned and operated Langston’s Laundry with Betty retiring in 1984. Betty had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed horseraces as well as playing pitch, dominoes, and reading. She treasured time spent with her family and thoroughly enjoyed every moment with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was loved by all her family and friends and will be missed by each and every one of them. Betty is survived by: 2 sons: Steve Langston and wife Tracey of Salina, Oklahoma and Rocky Langston of Salina, Oklahoma; 2 daughters: Sheri Weaver and husband Alan of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Jana Dill and husband Leonard of Tucson, Arizona; 8 grandchildren: Kyle Weaver and wife Shonda, Brett Weaver and wife Heather, Jillian Willyard and husband James, Dustin Dill and wife Monica, Ashley Langston, Preston Langston, Tiffany Bernal and husband Jason, and Heather Buck and husband John; 16 great grandchildren: Tyler Dill and wife Karla, Brady Weaver, Katlin Langston, Keaton Willyard, Kamree Willyard, Kaysen Langston, Marley Weaver, Zadie Dill, Karlie Dill, Aryel Langston, Bella Langston, Daley Weaver, Jason Bernal, Kloeigh Lee, Jordan Bernal, and Joseph Buck; 1 great-great grandson on the way; 1 sister: Judy Brantley and husband Hansford of Salina, Oklahoma. Betty was especially close to her granddaughter: Jill Willyard, and her great grandson: Kaysen Langston. Betty was preceded in death by: her parents and her husband. Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 25, 2021, at the Locust Grove Funeral Home Chapel in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Reverend Rick Condit officiated. Interment followed at the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove. Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
