Funeral Services for Wesley “Robb” Slaymaker, Jr., age 69, of O'Neill will be 10:30 am Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Assembly of God Church in O’Neill with Rev. Mike Durre officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Atkinson, NE with Military Rites by the Atkinson American Legion Farley-Tushla Post 86. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, January 29 from 5-8 pm with a 7 pm Prayer Service. Both Friday and Saturday's services will be live streamed on the O'Neill Assembly of God Churches Facebook page. Robb passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at West Holt Medical Center in Atkinson. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of arrangements. Robb was born on June 27, 1951 in Stuart, NE to Wesley, Sr. and Helen (Zink) Slaymaker. Robb was welcomed home by his sisters, Sandra and Mary Lou. Robb graduated from Rock County High School in 1969 then attended Wayne State College. He entered the Army National Guard on November 3, 1970 and climbed the ranks to Sergeant 1st Class. He took a tour in Honduras before being honorably discharged on November 3, 1994, after 24 years of service. Robb married Bonnie Shear and three boys were born: Rick, Bob, and Randy. They later divorced. He married Lori Klassen in 1990 at the Nazarene Church in Columbus, NE and one son, Dustin, was born. They later divorced. Throughout his lifetime, Robb worked a variety of jobs including the Bassett Livestock Market, Bomgaars, Gibsons, Keep-U-Neat Cleaners, O’Neill Public Schools, Tielke Sandwiches, and lastly AZZ along with his son Dustin. Robb loved to play golf, fishing at the family pond, wood working, traveling, and loved reading a good book. He was a coffee connoisseur and enjoyed spending the summers mowing all his “kids” lawns, even though he always said he was done “for good” after the season. Always up for a grill out or a night with friends, he took a smile wherever he went and shared it with all he met. Robb is survived by his son, Dustin (Jenna) Slaymaker of O’Neill, NE; sons, Bob (Kiley) Slaymaker, Randy (Kerry) Slaymaker, and Rick Slaymaker; sisters, Mary (Dave) Brinkman of Surprise, AZ and Sandra Slaymaker of Sun City, AZ; many grandkids, nieces, and nephews; extended family, Matt (Jade) Murphy and kids of O’Neill, NE, Heather Anderson and kids of O’Neill, NE, ex-wife, Lori (Bill) Loughman of Aurora, NE, and Pat Murphy of O’Neill, NE. Robb is preceded by his parents, Wesley R., Sr. and Helen Slaymaker.
