<p>Florence E. &ldquo;Sparky&rdquo;&nbsp;Markley, age 78, of Altoona, died Sunday afternoon, at her residence. &nbsp;She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Lemuel Paul and Sarah (Ogden) Garman. &nbsp;Florence was married to the late Eugene Teufel and then the&nbsp;late M.Dean Markley. &nbsp;Surviving are daughters: &nbsp;Stephanie (Bill) Sheehan and Patti (Bob) Harpster; a son, M. Dean (Rose) Markley; a sister, Margaret &ldquo;Peggy&rdquo; Arend; a brother, L. Paul Garmen; 9&nbsp;&nbsp;grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. &nbsp;She was preceded in death sisters: &nbsp;Kay Teufel and Mary Quarello; a brother, Kin &ldquo;Pete&rdquo; Garman; and a great granddaughter, Ashley. &nbsp;Florence graduate from Altoona Area High School in 1960. &nbsp;She retired as a office manager from Professional Hearing Aid Center. &nbsp;She attended First Grace Brethren Church and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Juniata VFW Post #8685. &nbsp;She enjoyed going to the beach, jigsaw puzzles, visiting relatives in California, going to New York and going on cruises. &nbsp;There will be no public viewing or funeral service.</p>

Florence E. “Sparky” Markley, age 78, of Altoona, died Sunday afternoon, at her residence.  She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Lemuel Paul and Sarah (Ogden) Garman.  Florence was married to the late Eugene Teufel and then the late M.Dean Markley.  Surviving are daughters:  Stephanie (Bill) Sheehan and Patti (Bob) Harpster; a son, M. Dean (Rose) Markley; a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Arend; a brother, L.
