Ray Duane Ewing

Ray Duane Ewing, age 77, of Bonnerdale, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was born on April 1, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Roy William Ewing and Dora Alice Bright Ewing. On August 8, 1966, he was married to Janice Eckard. Duane was a member of Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. An avid hunter, he belonged to the National Rifle Association and he also enjoyed fishing. He was a marine mechanic and a longtime employee of K & K Marine. He is survived by his wife, Janice Ewing of Bonnerdale; two brothers, John Ewing of Alma and Gwen Ewing and his wife, Betty, of Charleston; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Samson. Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, January 24, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Kyle Cowart and Bro. Keith Shewbart officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, 2:00 PM until service time, at the funeral home. Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 66% total occupancy at any one time in the funeral home chapel, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering at all times. Interment will be in the Dillard Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Bright, John Bright, Jason Bright, James Bright, Josh Bright and John Southall. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Burkes, Charles Bradley, Darrell Eckard, J. R. Golden and the employees of K & K Marine. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
