Maurice W. Patterson Obituary

 Boscawen - Maurice W. Patterson 82, passed away peacefully Monday, January 18, 2021 at home with his wife at his side.

Born March 4, 1938 in Franklin, he was the son of the late Everett W. and Lucinda H. (Woodard) Patterson.  He was raised in Sanbornton and graduated from Tilton Northfield High School class of 1957.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army and Reserves.  He was a Founder of Oxy-Gon Industries, Inc. which was started in 1986.  He also volunteered in many organization and activities in Epsom like the variety shows, Scout Master and Little League coach.  In 2007 He and his first wife Carolyn were voted Citizen of the Year at Epsom Old Home Day.

Maurice was one of the original founders and a lifetime member of the Fort Mountain Trailwinders Snowmobile Club.  He was an avid snowmobiler who enjoyed many hours on Mudget Mountain in Stewartstown.  He was a member of the New Rye Congregational Church, a member of the American Legion, Post 112, as well as the International Order of Odd Fellows.  Maurice was known as a Jack of many trades, master of most.  He enjoyed tinkering and rebuilding machinery, his whole life was organized in five gallon buckets with items being inventoried. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Carolyn with whom he celebrated 50 years marriage.

Surviving family members include his wife Brenda Bartlett of 5 ½ years, his daughter Diane Cheney of Jefferson, Ma. , his son Glen Patterson and wife Sharon of Pittsfield; stepchildren Tracy Bartlett,   Todd Bartlett and wife Susan of Boscawen; sisters Lois Wiggin of Concord, Barbara Chase of Canada, Lucile Patten and husband Albro of Concord, Patricia Ingerson and husband Roger of Pembroke;  seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no services at this time, a celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  The Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home in Epsom is assisting the family with arrangements.  To share a memory or offer a condolence please visit www.stilloaks.com
