Patrick Gerard Downs, age 69 of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021.

Mr. Downs was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Elizabeth Downs; his wife, Nujorn Downs; his brothers, Thomas and Michael Downs; and his brother in law Robert Dillon.

He is survived by his children, Som (Terence) Downs and Michelle (Bryan) Ladner; his grandchildren, Cooper and Ellington Downs, Petra Ladner and Nickolas Tanouye; his siblings, Elizabeth (Rodney) Martin, Otto (Linda) Downs, and Mary Dillon; and his sisters in law Rochelle and Kathy Downs.

Patrick, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was a constant provider. He served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 23 years of service to his country. Serving 3 tours during the Vietnam War, he met the love of his life in Thailand, with whom he shared a steadfast 39 years of marriage before her passing. He was a behind the scenes member of the WXXV Fox 25 team for almost 24 years. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and existing within the natural world. When he was not outdoors, you could find him tinkering and building model trains and planes. Known as a generous and kind man, he is very loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, January 30, 2020 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with visitation beginning at 1PM in the funeral home chapel. An online guestbook may be signed and memories shared at www.riemannfamily.com
