Jean F. Paterwic

Jean F. (Cummings) Paterwic, 89, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in the comfort of her home. Born October 30, 1931 in Windsor Locks, CT to the late James A. and Ruth D.M. Delano Cummings, she had resided in Enfield for the past 63 years and had resided in Windsor Locks & Miami, FL. Jean was a graduate of Windsor Locks H. S. Prior to her retirement in 1992 Jean was employed with Combustion Engineering for 16 years. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, dancing, needlepoint, flowers, animals, music, socializing with people, time spent with loved ones and friends, and associated with the Delano Kindred over 20 years. Jean was a member of the Enfield Congregational Church for over 50 years. Jean is survived by her four beloved daughters, Sharon McCray and husband Steve of East Windsor, Bonnie Santiago of Springfield, Lynn Goncalves of Enfield and Ava Paterwic Thomas and husband Roy of Stafford Springs, her eight cherished grandchildren and eight adored great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Audrey Moran of Coventry, CT, along with many nieces, nephews and several cousins. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her husband Michael Paterwic and a brother James Macquarrie. Calling hours for Jean will take place on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:45 am from Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, followed by interment in Grove Cemetery Windsor Locks, CT. Mask and Social distancing are required during the services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Beardsley Zoo, 1875 Noble Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06610.
