Leah Kay Hanson

Leah Kay Hanson, 81, of Weston died Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Leah was born in Richland Center, WI on August 3, 1939 the daughter of Kenneth and Lois (Chitwood) Barry. She graduated from Richland Center High School in 1957. While in school she loved playing the accordion and oboe in the school marching band. She also loved playing the piano for church services and weddings. On August 15, 1964 she was united in marriage to Wilbert V. Hanson at Five Points Lutheran Church. Leah was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was considered the “mom on call” to many kids in the neighborhood where they resided. She was also known for her love of animals, especially her many dogs. Leah is survived by her daughter Karla (Scott) Petges of Juneau, WI and her son Christopher (Samantha) Hanson of Schofield, WI; grandchildren Abbey Petges and Ethan and Aaron Hanson. Leah was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Sandra Gabert. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Richland Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23. 2021 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM.
