Margaret “Governa” Johnson, passed away on January 15, 2021, at the age of 67. She was the sixth child of the late Dorothy and Jessie Johnson. For over 25 years Margaret worked for the City of New Orleans, where she was known for her kind and pleasant spirit. She also loved spending time with friends and was deeply loved by her community. Margaret is survived by her three children Marcus Johnson, Latoya Johnson, Breanna Johnson; grandchildren LaTierance Land, Marcus Johnson Jr., JaMayah Collins, and Brayden Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parent Dorothy and Jessie Johnson and siblings Evelean Shorts and Melvin Johnson.Funeral service will take place on January 22, 2021 for 10am. The service location is New Home Ministries, 3720 South Broad Street, New Orleans, La. 70125. Viewing will take place from 8am to 10am. Internment will be in Restlawn Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and regulations, masks are to be worn and social distancing will be enforced.
