William Frederick Collier

William Frederick Collier, 81, of Cardigan PEI, Passed away peacefully with family by his side January 2nd 2021 in Kings County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with Cancer. Born in Charlottetown, he was the son of the late James and Grace (Ward) Collier. Bill worked as an automotive mechanic until his early retirement in 1992. It was then that he was able to spend his time doing what he truly loved, golfing. When not golfing he enjoyed fishing at his favorite fishing hole. Bill was a kind-hearted and caring man, always quick with a joke or smart comment to make you smile, his door always open for those he cared for and loved. Bill spent his time living care free and making sure "everything is tickety-boo". He leaves behind his five children, Michele Lainey (Luc), Pamela MacQuarrie (Jeff Smith), Alan Collier (Leah), Trudi Smith (Chris) and Melissa Hickey (Bradley); his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind brothers and sisters, Lewis Collier (Janet), Jessie Harding, Donna Porter (Kerry), Alan Collier (Debbie) and Cindy Livingston (Kevin) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by his Father James and his mother Grace, his sisters Beryl, Peggy and Irene and his Brother-in- law Lewis Harding. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all the wonderful doctors and nurses involved in his care over the past several years especially those at Kings county Memorial Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. In line with Bill's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorial donations may be made online to the Kings County Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
