Kawika Francis Oana was born on July 7th, 1986 in Yuma, AZ. He passed on January 3rd, 2021 at the age of 34. Kawika was not only a son but a brother, a nephew, an uncle, a godfather, and a loving friend. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Francis Kawaihoa Oana and grandmother Rieko Oana. He is survived by his mother, Kapiolani Oana, father, Joe Clark Jr., and sister, Kaiulani Mauricio.

He could light up the room with just his smile. He had such a contagious laugh that could fill anyone with joy. His sense of humor could make anyone laugh for days. One thing that made everyone laugh was when he would sing karaoke and would make up his own words. 

His kindness towards other was a trait that most knew him for. He would do things like pay for a meal for a family in need. Buy a homeless person outside a pair of shoes or a jacket. That’s the kind of love and compassion he had in his heart.

He was so creative in everything he did. He loved making decorations for any type of event. He could think of things so out of the box that everyone was so amazed at the work. He was also every creative in all the food and dishes he would cook.

Kawika loved to travel! He was able to adventure to the outer islands, the mainland and even Malaysia. And when he couldn’t travel on a plane he would go on his own adventures but tell no one, and have the whole island looking for him.

He loved his Hawaiian/Polynesian culture! He danced Hula and Tahitian. He loved to play his Papa’s ukulele. He also enjoyed making leis and learning about Hawaiian history and culture. He was also a Pa’u rider in the Aloha Week Parade for Mau’i.

Kawika has touched so many people with his beautiful soul. He was definitely taken from us way too soon. But he is now watching over all that he loves.  A private viewing for family is being held on Jan 22nd, 2021. His celebration of life will be held at a later time for all others to attend.
