Belva Christine Steiner Obituary

Belva Steiner was born Sept 1st, 1928 in DuBois NE, the daughter of William and Edna Marie (Jackson) Crawford. She married Joseph W. Steiner Jr. March 19, 1950 at United Brethren Church in DuBois. Joe Steiner died February 29, 2012. Joe & Belva formerly lived in Sabetha, KS, Rapid City, SD and Boone, IA before moving to Nebraska City in 1961. Belva went through three years of nurses training beginning in 1946 at St. Anthony Murdock Memorial Hospital, now known as Sabetha Community Hospital, in Sabetha, KS, and graduated in 1949. She loved the training that she had received. She spent the last 16 years of her nursing career working at Ambassador Health of Nebraska City before retiring. Joe and Belva lived at 1200 10th Ave in Nebraska City for forty years and raised four sons while operating Steiner’s Hobby and Toy Center on Central Ave for twenty-five years. Survivors include her sons Wayne Steiner and his wife Kathryn of Parker, CO; Dean Steiner and his wife Patricia of Omaha; Neil Steiner of Lincoln; and Michael Steiner and his wife Lori of Maryville, MO; four grandchildren, Jarod Steiner, Katie Olsen and her husband Max, Danny Steiner and his wife Samantha and David Steiner; one great-grandchild, Max Steiner and a soon to arrive great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Charles, Jack, Harry, & Ralph, and three sisters, Dorothy, Donna, & Lola. Belva died January 20, 2021 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha at the age of 92 years, 4 months, and 19 days.
