<p>Winston P. &ldquo;Shorty&rdquo; Owens</p> <p>Age 92, of&nbsp;East Canton passed away Tuesday January 19, 2021 in his home. He was born December 12, 1928 in Paris, IL to the late Harry P. and Mary (Scott) Owens. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Shorty retired from Heckett Engineering in 1988 after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul&rsquo;s Community Christian Church where he served as an usher. Member of American Legion Post #548 and the Operating Engineers local #18. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Owens; one son, Scott Owens; infant daughter, Paulette Owens; five brothers, George, Ralph, Fred, Richard and Harry Owens; one sister, Betty Rinehart. Shorty is survived by three daughters, Jennifer (Thomas) Barkhurst, Jolette (David) Monter and Paula (Robert) Foss; seven grandchildren, Amy, Jeremy, Robert III, Rebecca, Travis, Erinn and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren, Kobi, Jake, Alison, Garrette, Kyler, Draven and Avery. A private family service will be conducted in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton.
