Arayata, of Downingtown, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at the age of 61 at Phoenixville Hospital.<br /> <br /> Born in Manila, Philippines, Charlie was the son of the late Carlos Y. and Nita Llamas Arayata.&nbsp;He attended St. Andrew&#39;s School in Para&ntilde;aque and the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.</p> <p>He was the beloved husband of Ma Teresa D. Arayata. Childhood sweethearts, the couple emigrated in their late teens/early twenties to the Chester County area and would have shared 39 years of marriage together in May.<br /> <br /> Charlie was proud to be part of the fabric of the Downingtown community. He was a devout parishioner at St. Joseph&rsquo;s Church, and he worked as a Sales and Leasing Consultant at Roberts Auto Mall - Honda (now Reedman Toll Honda) for nearly 30 years. Charlie took great pride in his work and earned multiple Gold Master Awards from American Honda. His genuine warmth and amiable personality allowed him to build lasting relationships with many in the community both inside and outside of work.<br /> <br /> Charlie always held his Filipino roots close to his heart. He enjoyed bowling in leagues with Philly Pinoy and watching the Filipino professional boxer Manny Pacquiao. Charlie also kept his roots close to his stomach: He was always grateful to have access to authentic Filipino cuisine, especially if it was a home-cooked meal by family or friends.<br /> <br /> In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by 3 children: Charles J. &quot;CJ&quot; Arayata, Ian N. Arayata, and Sean E. Arayata. He is also survived by sisters: Aurora Manarang, and Esther De La Cuesta.</p> <p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 22, at 11 AM At St. Joseph&rsquo;s Catholic Church in Downingtown. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, from 4-5 PM at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, and a second visitation will be held on Friday at St. Joseph&rsquo;s Church prior to the Mass from 9:45-10:45 AM. Interment will be conducted privately at All Souls Cemetery at the convenience of the family. It is kindly requested that all guests wear face coverings and practice social distancing.</p> <p>Remembrances and expressions of sympathy may be made in the form desired by friends.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Carlos "Charlie" Edward L. Arayata, of Downingtown, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at the age of 61 at Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in Manila, Philippines, Charlie was the son of the late Carlos Y. and Nita Llamas Arayata. He attended St. Andrew's School in Parañaque and the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.

He was the beloved husband of Ma Teresa D. Arayata. Childhood sweethearts, the couple emigrated in their late teens/early twenties to the Chester County area and would have shared 39 years of marriage together in May.

Charlie was proud to be part of the fabric of the Downingtown community. He was a devout parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church, and he worked as a Sales and Leasing Consultant at Roberts Auto Mall - Honda (now Reedman Toll Honda) for nearly 30 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 22, at 11 AM At St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Downingtown. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, from 4-5 PM at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, and a second visitation will be held on Friday at St. Joseph’s Church prior to the Mass from 9:45-10:45 AM. Interment will be conducted privately at All Souls Cemetery at the convenience of the family. It is kindly requested that all guests wear face coverings and practice social distancing.

Remembrances and expressions of sympathy may be made in the form desired by friends.
