Beverly B Fenton Obituary

FENTON, Beverly B., 80, of Tampa passed away January 20, 2021. Born in Bayou Blue, Louisiana, she moved to this area in 1969. She is predeceased by her husband, Richard Fenton; her parents Lance Paul Brien, Elizabeth Morillon and Laura Martin Pontiff Brien (stepmother); brothers L.P. Brien, Jr., Johnnie Brien, Lawrence Brien; step brothers George Pontiff and Gene Pontiff; and sister Marjorie Giglio. She is survived by sons, Matthew (Rebeca) and Paul (Debbie); daughter, Laurie Masser, all of Tampa; brother, Daniel Brien (Claire), step brothers, Ed Pontiff, and Gerard Pontiff (Sharon) and sister, Bonnie Caro (Berris), step sister Marie Lapeyre (Harold), all of Houma; and grandchildren, Brett Masser (Brittany), Matthew Fenton, Jr., Nicholas Fenton, Colin Fenton, and Elizabeth Fenton; great grandchild, Lacey Charbonier. Beverly Fenton was one-of-a-kind. A natural leader, it did not take long for her to rise to the helm of any organization in which she was involved. Raised on a farm, Beverly was not afraid to work with her hands or do the dirty work; along with her husband Richard, she ran a successful lawn mowing and maintenance business for several years, enlisting her sons and their friends as employees. She taught her children lessons about the importance of working hard, and bemoaned any job that she found to have been done in a “half-assed” manner. Beverly’s greatest joy was her children and grandchildren – nothing was more important to her than her family, to whom she dispensed her love and her opinions in equal measure, and to whom she leaves a legacy built upon the importance of gathering together with, and loving and respecting, family. A devout Catholic, she was a devoted and involved parishioner at Incarnation Catholic Church for over forty years, where she made many friends who will miss her wit, her love, and her devotion. Beverly also loved to watch team sports, whether being played by her children or grandchildren, or by the Florida Gators and the various Tampa Bay professional sports franchises. Beverly leaves behind three children who deeply love, admire, and miss her, and who know they were deeply loved by her as well. The funeral will be streaming on Facebook at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/laurie.masser Please note that you need to be friends with Laurie to see the stream, so please send her a friend request if you are not already friends with her.
