Jack was born on June 6, 1931 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Paul Andrew and Eula Dovie (Barnes) Collier.  He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1951.  He went on to become a Pastor in 1958 until his passing in 2021, there was no retiring for Pastor Jack.  Before becoming a full time Pastor, Jack had many occupations;  an electrician, butcher, door to door vacuum sales, purchasing agent and even rode bareback broncs.  He once said “I am a jack of all trades and master of none”.

He like to go to second-hand stores, making walking sticks, gardening, collecting wooden objects, golf, football, popping popcorn, western shows,  Barbecuing chicken, telling stories, rodeo, singing, playing spoons, dancing a gig and being a father, friend or mentor to whomever needed one.

Pastor Jack was an Honorary Chaplain for the Prineville Band of Brothers.  He officiated numerous military ceremonies in the Prineville community.  He was well known for his speeches on Memorial and Veteran’s Day at the park.

Jack pastored churches in Roosevelt, OK, Iowa Park, Armarillo, Childress and Big Springs, Texas. He pastored at the Missionary Baptist Church of Prineville for 20 years.  After “retirement” he helped organize Grace Baptist Church of Prineville and was their interim pastor for three years.  Over the last seven to eight years, he and his wife drove almost 90 miles each Sunday to attend the Mitchell Baptist Church in Mitchell, Oregon.  There he taught Sunday school, lead song service and continued to preach.  After his cancer diagnosis he and Gloria were no longer able to drive to Mitchell and they attended Calvary Baptist in Prineville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Eula Collier, daughter Markette Collier, and granddaughter Michelle Collier, four brothers; Stean (“Doc”), Neal, Richard “Rip”, and Joe, two sisters; Pauline “Pody” and Eva.

Jack is survived by his wife Gloria of Prineville, Oregon, sons; Lonnie (Kaye) of Glen Rose, Texas, Paul (Claudia) of Mason City, Iowa, Mark of Prineville, Jeffery (Frances) of Prineville, Oregon, daughters; Lana Hirschfield of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Tammy (Brian) Barclay of Bend, Oregon, sisters; Sally, Janis Kay and Patsy of Wichita Falls, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
