John H Proach Jr Age 97 of Canton Ohio passed away on January 19th after a five week illness. He was born on April 10th, 1923 and is preceded in death by his parents John and Anna Proach, and younger brother Michael. He married Violet Orange on June 23, 1951. John started as a seventeen year old draftsman at The Timken Company and retired as a mechanical engineer after 39 years of service. John was instrumental in helping his son start Greens and Things Nursery and his daughter’s Juicy Fruits Market. He could be seen clerking behind the counter for many years and loved visiting with customers. He was always willing to help his children in whatever way he could. He was proud to share a birthday with his special niece Jennifer. He loved going to auctions, eating sweets, and never missed a day reading The Canton Repository. He is survived by his wife Violet, sister Mary, children Paula, John (Patti) and Patrice (Rod Annis), four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. God kindly blessed John with 97 years of life, 70 years of marriage, and 40 years of retirement. What more could one ask for? Calling hours will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Sunday, January 24th at Lamiell Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church will be held Monday at 11:00am.
