Glenda Fay Guthrie

Glenda Fay (Bittinger) Guthrie, 62, of Oakland, MD, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. Born October 19, 1958, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Selby Lawrence and Martha Isabell (Durst) Bittinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Junior Lee Guthrie. Glenda was a driver for the Garrett Transit Service of Garrett County Community Action. She enjoyed going fishing and taking care of her family. She is survived by one son, Christopher L. Guthrie and fiancé Emilee Friend; three daughters, Christine L. Guthrie and fiancé, Joseph Moats, Kingwood, WV; Tonia L. Guthrie, Oakland; Sonia L. Moreland and husband, Samuel, Sr., Reedsville, WV; ten grandchildren, Destiny M. Miller, Tray A. Lipscomb, Ty K. Miller, Alexis J. Tyler, Alissia B. Perea, Samuel M. Moreland, Jr., Katelyn R. Lipscomb, Bradley S. Lipscomb III, Sierra Friend, and Trenten Friend; two great grandchildren, Amaya R. Lipscomb and Jaylynn E. Miller. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes on Thursday, January 21, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel following visitation at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Russell Liller officiating. Interment will be in the Bittinger Family Cemetery, Swanton. For safety precautions and according to CDC guidelines, we ask everyone to wear a mask and please honor the social distancing guideline.
