Marvin Leroy Maze

Marvin Leroy Maze 67 died January 16, 2021 at his home in Anchorage Alaska after a two-year battle with cancer. Marvin was born on January 29, 1953 in Chester Montana. He was the second of four children born to Harold and Audrey Maze. Marvin has 2 sisters and 1 brother. Sandra Merritt of Maine, Ed Maze of Alaska and Diane Slocumb of North Carolina. The Maze family moved to Anchorage Alaska in 1957. Marvin graduated from East Anchorage High School in 1971. In 1971 Marvin married Connie Bowlus. Together they had 6 children. He is survived by his son Kyle Maze of Anchorage AK; his daughters Kristie Hoff of Boynton Beach FL; Korey Bullard of Wasilla AK; Kara Cerda of Anchorage AK; and Katie Casey of Ellisville MO. Marvin has 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Father Harold Maze of Kalispell Montana (1986); Mother Audrey Maze of Holton Main (2020); his son Kevin Maze of Anchorage Alaska (2010) and granddaughter Danielle (2016). Marvin was one of Jehovah’s Witness for 46 years. He loved to talk to people about the bible and Jehovah God. His study of the bible gave him strength and strong hope for the future which can be explained in the book Acts 24:15 – “I have hope towards God… that there is going to be a resurrection…” Marvin had other hobbies; he loved music, he taught himself to play the guitar and to sing. He loved watching old Westerns and oldies T.V. shows. Gunsmoke was his favorite. Marvin worked for Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility for over 20 years before moving to Kalispell in 1994. In 2004 he returned to Alaska but left again in 2010 to care for his mother in Maine. In 2019 he again came home to Alaska to be cared for by his family. At his request, no service will be held.
