Scott D. Kohlman Obituary

Scott Daniel Kohlman, age 56, of Plymouth, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday morning, January 18, 2021. He was born in Plymouth on November 6, 1964, a son of the late Eugene and JoAnn (Fritz) Kohlman. Scott attended St. John Lutheran grade school and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1982. He worked in the lumber industry for W.D. Scott Lumberyard and later Richardson Lumber for over 20 years. For the past 13 years Scott enjoyed working in landscaping, first joining Serenity Farm Landscaping doing many beautiful projects. Most recently he worked for Windway Capital, maintaining the corporate home and grounds. On July 11, 2003, he married Tina Struyk at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth, where he had been a lifelong member. Scott was a champion for youth, especially those who had a passion for livestock. Scott was a long-time 4H County-wide Sheep and Swine Project volunteer leader and was a founding member of the county’s 4H General Livestock Committee. He served as the county 4H livestock judging team coach for over 20 years, helping youth not only be able to judge and select their project animals, but to gain confidence in themselves. He volunteered many years for the Sheboygan County Meat Animal Sale and was also an active member of the Northeast WI Sheep Breeders Association and the Tri-County Pork Producers. He had a passion for raising livestock, and loved being a part of livestock shows, whether it was through his own children, nieces, and nephews competing, volunteering, or just watching. There was no livestock show or sale too small or too large. Scott always looked forward to a good road trip shopping for project animals or just watching livestock shows with not only with his own family, but also friends. He served as the county 4H livestock judging team coach for over 20 years, helping youth not only be able to judge and select their project animals, but to gain confidence in themselves. He cherished the moments connecting with others. Scott also enjoyed landscaping and spending time with his family and friends. He was proud of the home, yard, and farm he provided for the family. Survivors include: Wife: Tina; Children: Ethan and Olivia; Brothers: Todd (Monica) of Milwaukee, Blake (Traci) of Plymouth, and Chad (Joy) of Sheboygan Falls; Parents-in-law: John and Anant Struyk of White House, TN; and Brother-in-law: Jim (Marisa) Struyk of Pingree Grove, IL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends. A public visitation requiring masks and social distancing will be held on Thursday (January 21, 2021) from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Private family services will be held and interment will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Scott’s name.
