Katie Lynn Warne Obituary

Katie Lynn Warne, 36 of Henderson, CO, formerly of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in Henderson, CO. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Following the visitation, family and friends are invited to come and gather at the American Legion in Watertown to have a drink with Katie. Katie Lynn Warne was born on the evening of July 3, 1984 to Doug and Kimberly (Kellogg) Warne in Watertown, SD and was definitely their firecracker baby. Katie lit up a room the minute she entered, and had a bubbly and sparkling personality. She attended schools in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School in 2002. Growing up, Katie always made sure their home was full. Her motto was "the more the merrier". Her parents never knew how many kids they would wake up to in their home on the weekends. Katie had an infectious laugh, a unique laugh, a musical laugh. It didn't matter if you knew why she was laughing, but when you heard her you just started laughing also. Katie loved traveling and living life, especially the great outdoors. From hiking and camping in Colorado to white water rafting in Idaho, exploring Arizona and visiting California, Katie was always game for an adventure. Then there are her three children, four legged of course! Tobias the Dingo dog, who traveled everywhere with Katie, he is such a good boy. Her cats, Tubesock and Friday who are very happy not to travel, but to just chill at home with Randy. Katie, you were our free spirit, our wild child, our baby girl. Fly high and spread your wings and soar. We love and miss you! Katie is survived by her mother, Kim Hoffman (Todd Riley) of Watertown, SD, her father, Doug (Delana Calkins) Warne of Jim Falls, WI; her siblings, Kyle Warne (Nicole) and Skye Hoffman of Watertown, Jessie Calkins of New Auburn, WI, and Jenny Hager (John) of Stanley, WI; her grandparents, Gordon Warne of Jim Falls, WI and Lou Ann Riley of Hazel, SD; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Christopher Mui of Denver, CO, and Randy Ogden of Henderson, CO. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ken and Shirley Kellogg, her paternal grandmother Alice Warne, her grandfather James Riley, and her uncle Patrick Riley.
