Charlotte Ruth Tulp (Reardon) 96, of Middlefield, loving wife of the late John “Jack” Tulp passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell.  Born on September 1, 1924, Charlotte was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Wetmore) Reardon.  She was a graduate of Hill House High School and Southern Connecticut State University. She completed her Master’s Degree in Education at Buffalo State University.

The Tulp family moved from Meriden to Buffalo, New York in 1962 where Charlotte continued to teach elementary school and raise her family.  She and husband Jack were avid golfers. Charlotte was Lady’s Champion for several years at Delaware Golf Course. She was a great cook and baker. Her vast assortment of delicious Christmas cookies will be a family memory for generations .Charlotte was an ardent sports follower. Her favorite teams were the Lady Huskies, the New York Yankees, and the Buffalo Bills (go Bills).

Charlotte continued her interest in sports and fitness, participating in exercise and yoga classes and keeping up a regular walking regimen well into her nineties.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother¸ Charlotte is survived by two sons, Russell Tulp and wife Susan, of Beijing, China, Randall Tulp and wife Ann Sinko, of Middletown, and a daughter, Jacquelyn Sanford, and husband Harry of Middletown, as well as two grandsons, Duncan Sanford and wife Lucy and great granddaughter Abby Charlotte of West Hartford, and Eric Sanford and wife Melissa, and great grandson Jack of Middletown.

A private celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlotte’s memory may be made to ASPCA, P.O.
